Xunlight Appoints Two VPs to Strengthen its Engineering and Business Development

Toledo, Ohio – April 25, 2008 – Xunlight Corporation, a leader in the development of low cost and flexible thin-film silicon solar modules, today announced it has strengthened its senior management team with the appointments of Dr. Masat Izu as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Mr. Matthew Longthorne as Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategies.

Masat Izu worked in photovoltaics for over 30 years, previously at Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. (ECD). He played a key role at ECD for its commercial expansion into a leading thin film photovoltaic module manufacturer. As Vice President of Machine Division, Masat Izu led the team at ECD to develop a highly automated roll-to-roll amorphous silicon PV manufacturing process.

“Masat brings to Xunlight a proven track record of commercializing R&D into large-scale manufacturing. We are pleased to have a leader of such caliber on our team”, said Xunlight’s CEO Dr. Xunming Deng.

“I am excited to become a member of the Xunlight team and help the company to commercialize the unique and advanced photovoltaic science and technology developed over the past decades at the University of Toledo”, said Dr. Izu.

Matt Longthorne joins Xunlight following a 19 year career in the glass container industry working for Owens-Illinois, a fortune 500 company based in Toledo. He brings to Xunlight broad business and management experience, including sales, financing, operations, manufacturing, and business strategies. During his last two years at O-I, he held the position of president for OI’s North American Glass Container business where he had overall responsibility for the $2.3 billion business unit. He will lead Xunlight’s business development effort.

“Matt’s extensive business experience will be an invaluable addition to our team since it complements the strong experience of Xunlight’s team in technology development and equipment building. We look forward to his leadership in developing relationships with strategic customers, partners and vendors”, said Dr. Deng.

“It is an honor for me to join a company with such deep experience in the photovoltaic industry. I believe that my experience managing a large scale manufacturing business will be very useful to help the company leverage its outstanding technology and capitalize on its growth prospects”, said Longthorne.
